What is cosmetic dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry incorporates both science and aesthetics to create a healthy, flawless smile. In addition to focusing on the health of your teeth and gums, cosmetic dentistry aims to improve and sustain your beautiful new smile.

Cosmetic Treatments offered:

Why should I see a cosmetic dentist?

A cosmetic dentist is professionally trained and certified to effectively provide an assortment of treatments with the common goal of enhancing the appearance of your overall smile. Cosmetic dentistry is an art form few general dentists can achieve. Experience in cosmetics assures you receive safe, painless, and beautiful dentistry. You deserve Dentistry for Life!

You may desire cosmetic dentistry if you:

  • Are looking for an alternative to braces
  • Want both healthy and beautiful teeth and gums

How long will each cosmetic treatment take?

We cannot answer with certainty, because just like every smile we treat is unique, so are the treatments provided. Most treatments are complete within a single visit to our office.

Will my insurance cover cosmetic dental care?

Insurance companies reimburse dental procedures exactly the same in a general dental practice and a cosmetic focused dental practice. There are many different dental plans, therefore we review the specific coverage with each patient. You will receive exact dental costs, insurance reimbursement amounts, and co-payments in advance.

Am I am good candidate for teeth whitening?

You are a good candidate for teeth whitening if:

  • You maintain good dental health (i.e. brush three times a day, floss, receive regular dental checkups every six months, etc.)
  • Have discolored, or yellow, teeth
  • Want to aesthetically improve the look and feel of your teeth

Are there any side effects to teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a safe procedure, with little to no side effects.

Minor side effects may include:

  • Increased tooth sensitivity to hot or cold
  • Gum sensitivity or irritation from nighttime whitening trays.

Why would I choose this practice over a dentist on my insurance list?

You can and should choose a dentist that provides dentistry aimed at lasting a lifetime. Reimbursement rates to our practice are often equal to the amount of preferred providers and in some cases a slight difference. Without the preferred provider contract, Dr. Wilkey is able to offer premium dental products and services without the constraints of insurance driven dentistry. You will be assured that the dentistry offered here is what you need, not necessarily only what the insurance will pay for.

What is different about this dental practice compared to others?

Experience in cosmetic dentistry requires years of additional training in precise dentistry. Whether you desire a beautiful smile or dentistry lasting a lifetime, Dr. Wilkey has the clinical expertise few dentists possess.
